About This Library
All dimensions and sectional properties for IS 808 sections (ISMB, ISMC, ISA, ISHB) are taken directly from IS 808:1989 (reaffirmed 2021) — the Indian Standard for dimensions of hot rolled steel beam, column, channel, and angle sections. Mass tolerance for IS 808 sections is ±2.5% per piece. IS 4923 hollow section (SHS and RHS) data is from IS 4923:1997; mass tolerance is ±6% per individual piece as per IS 4923:1997 Clause 10. Always verify against the current published standard for critical engineering work.
Each section page provides: full outer dimensions, web and flange thicknesses, cross-sectional area, mass per metre, moments of inertia (Ixx, Iyy), elastic section moduli (Zxx, Zyy), and radii of gyration (rxx, ryy). A live calculator lets you enter any length in metres and get the total weight instantly.
